Claiming
This feature is only available in Survival.
Claiming is how you keep your builds safe on TomatoMC. With the GriefPrevention system, land you claim is fully protected so only you and the people you trust can interact inside.
Note: Claiming with GriefPrevention is available only in Survival and Lifesteal. Our SkyBlock and OneBlock modes use their own island protection systems.
Creating a Claim
To make a claim you need claim blocks. Use a golden shovel and right-click two opposite corners of the area you want to protect. Glowstone and gold blocks will appear to mark the boundaries. Once both corners are set, the land inside is claimed.
Claim Blocks
Claim blocks are a virtual currency that decides how much land you can own.
- You automatically earn 100 claim blocks per hour of playtime.
- Extra blocks can be gained as rewards from events.
- If you run out, you can also buy or sell them with commands.
Your available balance shows whenever you use the golden shovel.
Managing Your Claims
There are multiple commands to control your claims and permissions:
/claimslist– Show all of your claims./abandonclaim– Remove the claim you are standing in./extendclaim <amount>– Expand your current claim if you have blocks available./subdivideclaims– Create smaller sub-claims inside a bigger one.
Trust and Permissions
Control who can do what inside your claim:
/trust <player>– Full build access./containertrust <player>– Access to containers, buttons, levers, etc./accesstrust <player>– Access to doors and switches only./untrust <player>– Remove a player’s permissions./untrustall– Clear all permissions from your claim./trustlist– Show all players with permissions in your claim.
Additional Commands
/claimexplosions– Toggle whether explosions affect your claim./ignoreplayer <player>– Ignore a player’s messages./unignoreplayer <player>– Stop ignoring a player./ignoreplayerlist– Show all players you are ignoring./sellclaimblocks <amount>– Sell some of your unused claim blocks.
